Desenzano: Opponents Seek Inclusion on List of Municipalities Under High Housing Pressure
Opposition councilors in Desenzano del Garda have filed a motion to insert the town into the High Housing Tension (ATA) list, aiming to apply a 10% flat tax (cedolare secca) on canone concordato leases as a response to the local housing emergency. The proposal was presented by Stefano Terzi and signed by Maria Vittoria Papa, Bernardo Comini, Beatrice Gabusi, Andrea Angelo Palmerini, and Andrea Spiller.
The motion asks the municipal administration to prepare an updated dossier on the local housing situation and to begin formal talks with Regione Lombardia to promote inclusion in the ATA register with the Government and the Ministry of Infrastructure. The signatories argue the measure is warranted by rising rents, tourism market pressures, and the spread of short-term rentals that are reducing the availability of housing for long-term residents.
