Asar Unveils Pre-1900 Isola del Garda Exhibition in San Felice del Benaco

The Associazione Storico Archeologica della Riviera del Garda (ASAR), chaired by Simone Don, has announced a new exhibition and editorial project focused on Isola del Garda, including a show, a conference, and a publication. The exhibition “Isola del Garda before 1900” opens Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10:00 at the Ex Monte di Pietà in Piazza Municipio (free entry) and runs May 16–31, 2026 on weekends, 10:00–12:30 and 14:30–18:00; a conference by Prof. Gian Pietro Brogiolo is scheduled for 10:00 on opening day.

The accompanying publication, the notebook “Isola del Garda before 1900,” draws on documentary research with contributions from the Cavazza family and presents an iconographic route featuring paintings, frescoes, inscriptions, period photographs, and a private postcard collection, enhanced by AI image processing (including an AI-assisted drawing/reworking of the Castle by Andrea Danesi). The project is produced in collaboration with Isola del Garda (Cavazza family) and is under the patronage of the Comune di San Felice del Benaco; a guided tour of the Island on Sunday, May 17, is already sold out.
