Salvini Announces Garda TAV Station Construction in Peschiera del Garda
Italy’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, has revived plans for the Garda TAV station, delivering a video address at the conference “The Garda-Mincio Regulation System” in Peschiera del Garda. AMIT (MIT) note says Salvini asked RFI and Ferrovie dello Stato technicians to quickly assess the project’s feasibility, costs and benefits, and its impacts on the involved territories, framing the move within interventions funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Desenzano del Garda Mayor Malinverno welcomed the commitment, thanking the minister and the Mantua-area mayors and noting RFI’s participation. The same statement cited support from MPs Dara and Formentini and urged the technicians to deliver a feasibility and sustainability plan that respects the area’s historical, environmental, and landscape constraints.
