Salò Hosts Inaugural Gold Sprint Triathlon With 837 Entrants

The 9th Triathlon Sprint Città di Salò, the inaugural Gold edition, was held Sunday, May 24, 2026, registering a new record with 837 participants. Giulia Bergamin (Tri Team Brianza) won the women’s race in 1h05’08”, ahead of Tania Molinari (1h05’51”) and Alice Bagarello (1h08’15”). Giovanni Aruffo (Eroi del Piave) took the men’s title in 59’22”, followed by Daniele Moruzzi (1h00’03”) and Marco Barison (1h00’06”).

The race started from the gulf of Salò and traversed the Morenic hills near San Felice del Benaco, on a 750-meter swim, 20 km bike and 5 km run course. The event occurred during a heat wave, with air at about 30°C and water at 18.5°C. In addition to the main winners, Marco Corti (Zerotrenta Triathlon) and Iris Reif (Millennium Triathlon) won the Coppa delle Zette, while Millennium Triathlon claimed the Trofeo San Felice del Benaco. Award ceremonies were attended by Salò mayor Francesco Cagnini, San Felice del Benaco mayor Marzia Manovali, sports councilor Giovanni Tonoli and regional councilor Floriano Massardi; Nicola Benedetti, president of the organizing club, praised the volunteers and local administrations for staging the event.
