Wool-Shearing and Spinning Demo at Sigurtà Farm
Pecora Tosando, an event dedicated to shearing and wool processing, will take place at Fattoria del Parco Giardino Sigurtà on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 10:30 to 13:30. Expert operators will demonstrate the shearing of Lessinia sheep of the Brogna breed, recognized as a Slow Food Presidium, and outline the wool’s preparation steps—from fleece selection and scouring to drying, carding, combing, and turning the fibers into yarn.
The morning program includes practical demonstrations of yarn work with crochet and knitting, a display of a traditional loom, and explanations on weaving and felting. The sheep will also contribute to the ecological maintenance of the reserve’s meadows and slopes. The organizer reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the event for weather, force majeure, or regulatory reasons, with notifications provided two days in advance.
