Manerba Hosts Conference on Water Landscapes and the Human-Nature Connection
A morning conference titled “Paesaggi d’Acqua,” exploring the relationship between humans and water, will be held on Saturday, June 6, at Palazzo Minerva in Manerba del Garda. The event runs from 9:30 to 12:30 with free admission and is organized by the Manerba del Garda Municipal Administration and the Museo Civico Archeologico della Valtenesi; it is open to both specialists and history-and-culture enthusiasts.
Scholars and curators will participate: Marco Baioni and Claudia Mangani will discuss the palafitte phenomenon and research at Lucone di Polpenazze; Alfredo Buonopane will examine Neptune in Catullan sources; Simone Don and Maria Federica Petraccia will address water cults in the Roman era; Gian Pietro Brogiolo will explore ports between antiquity and the Middle Ages; Barbara Bianchi will consider water in Roman villas, with Serena Solano moderating the discussion.
