Fraglia Vela Malcesine Organizes Italian Dolphin 81 Championship in Malcesine
The Italian Dolphin 81 Championship (EuroCup 2026) will be held in Malcesine from Friday, June 5 to Sunday, June 7, organized by Fraglia Vela Malcesine, with an opening party in Desenzano that gathered owners, crews, sponsors and institutional figures including FIV Councilor Domenico Foschini, Class Councillors Bocchio and Garrini, measurer Ugo Colosio, Raffaele Valsecchi of the XIV FIV Zone, and leaders of main sponsor Maxi Dolphin, Luca Botter and Giovanni Pizzatti, plus the Polettini family.
Registration, weighing and boat inspections are scheduled for Thursday, June 4 and the morning of Friday, June 5, with a Skipper Meeting at 11:00 and the first signal at 13:00. Twenty-five boats are entered, with a maximum of eight races planned and a limit of three races per day; the fleet includes two Under-25 crews and three boats from Sailing Schools (two from Fraglia Vela Desenzano and one from Centro Velico Torre Guaceto). Defending champion Luca Nassini (Achab ITA 115) is among the favorites.
