Salò to Host the 72nd Alpini Sezione Gathering for Monte Suello Centenary
The 72nd Adunata Sezionale degli Alpini “Monte Suello” will be held in Salò from June 12 to 14, 2026, coinciding with the Centenario Monte Suello, and will mark the return of the Itinerant Banner. The event is organized by the ANA Salò Section, led by President Sergio Poinelli, and involves 3,214 Alpini, 410 Amici degli Alpini, and 844 Aggregati, with civil and military authorities expected to attend.
The program opens on Friday, June 12 with official welcomes and commemorations. On Saturday, June 13, the Itinerant Banner will depart from Gruppo Alpini di Portese and reach Salò by lake aboard a boat escorted by patrol boats from the Coast Guard, Guardia di Finanza, and Vigili del Fuoco. Sunday, June 14, will feature a large parade through the streets of Salò with thousands of Alpini, bands, and authorities. The details were outlined in a press conference by Mayor Francesco Cagnini and President Poinelli, who expressed expectations for strong participation for the centennial.
