Chiaretto Palio Kicks Off in Bardolino and Lazise as 36 Wineries Debut

The 21st Palio del Chiaretto has kicked off today and will run all weekend between Bardolino and Lazise to celebrate Chiaretto and the local wineries on the Veronese shore; the official inauguration took place Friday afternoon on Lungolago Lenotti in Bardolino, with attendance from local administrators, institutions, producers, and industry representatives.

The festival brings together 36 wineries (18 from Bardolino and 18 from the Bardolino-Chiaretto DOC area). Maurizio Andreoli of Ca’ Bottura cut the ribbon, with Bardolino mayor Daniele Bertasi and Lazise mayor Damiano Bergamini in attendance. After the opening, tastings along the lakeside were accompanied by itinerant music and performances, with the program continuing through Sunday.
