Vittoriale Unveils AvaDa 2.0 and Unpublished D’Annunzio Letters
On Sunday, June 21, beginning at 6:00 p.m., the Vittoriale degli Italiani will host Omaggio a d’Annunzio nell’azzurro, a night of culture, music and solidarity with free park access in the afternoon. The event highlights the long-standing link between Gabriele d’Annunzio and the Italian Air Force and will culminate at 8:15 p.m. with a free concert by the Fanfara of the 1st Air Region of the Italian Air Force in the Vittoriale Amphitheater.
AvaDa 2.0, the updated hologram of d’Annunzio, will be unveiled during the evening at Casa Cama. The revised presentation features a new image and a more sophisticated artificial intelligence capable of more natural dialogue, aiming to convey the poet’s complex personality with greater authenticity. Giordano Bruno Guerri, president of the Fondazione Il Vittoriale degli Italiani, notes that the new version moves beyond the previous AI, which he described as too politically correct, restoring a voice that is truer to d’Annunzio’s style.
The program also includes the presentation of the Carteggio Giovanni Rizzo, a collection of eighty letters from d’Annunzio to the official overseer appointed by Mussolini, many of which are unpublished. Two forthcoming books will be released: Il santo e il poeta. Mito e rito di Francesco in Gabriele d’Annunzio by Angelo Piero Cappello, and Io, Marcello Dudovich. La mia vita tra sogno e realtà, edited by Maria Grazia Bella. At 8:15 p.m., the free concert by the Fanfara, conducted by Massimiliano Picca and hosted by Sonia Bedeschi, will support the charity Un Dono dal Cielo, which aids three pediatric hospitals. Donors can contribute via IBAN IT38V0503403204000000014483 or SWIFT BAPPIT21A64, with details at aeronautica.difesa.it/un-dono-dal-cielo-2026/.
