Councillors Seek Updates on Desenzano’s Historic-Center ZTL

Five opposition councilors in Desenzano, Stefano Terzi, Maria Vittoria Papa, Bernardo Comini, Beatrice Gabusi, and Andrea Angelo Palmerini, have submitted an interpellation to the municipal administration requesting a report on the ZTL in the historic center. The measure began last February as an experimental phase intended to improve safety, livability, and the center’s value. The councilors want to know what assessments have been collected so far from citizens, residents, and businesses, which operational adjustments have been made, and the timetable for activating the electronic gates announced in 2022.

Criticisms raised include congestion and traffic difficulties in Piazza Duomo, access problems for some vehicles serving central businesses, and the need for public meetings to gather observations and suggestions. The interpellation also asks which interventions will be adopted to address these issues and whether joint verifications with residents and operators have already been organized.
