Heat in Garda: Walks and water activities lead the summer holiday season

Hot weather in Garda has shifted daily routines for both residents and tourists, with early mornings emerging as the preferred time to go out. The hottest hours in the middle of the day are driving more people toward beaches and water-based activities, while lakeside bars and shops see the strongest footfall in the morning.

As temperatures peak, many opt to stay at home or take short trips to the hills earlier in the day. Later afternoon and evening bring activity back to towns such as Bardolino, Torri del Benaco and Lazise, where people walk along the waterfront and pack into more popular venues; meanwhile, access to bathing spots and rentals for pedal boats, SUP and kayaks increases throughout the day. Common practical measures include staying in the shade, choosing low-intensity routes and planning outings around the cooler time windows.
