Montichiari: Eugenio Mombelli Donates Artwork to the City as Part of 205 Works Project

An official art donation by artist Eugenio Mombelli was presented this morning at the Municipality of Montichiari. The artwork was given to the Comune as part of the project “205 opere per 205 comuni,” created by Mombelli to enrich the artistic heritage of towns and cities across the province through his works.

The donated piece, in the Informal style, is untitled and made using mixed media including oil, acrylic, enamel, resins, and collage. It measures 150 cm by 60 cm, and the municipal council approved the gift to display it in the spaces of the Montichiari town hall. Councillor for Culture Martina Varone thanked Mombelli for the donation, saying it helps enhance local cultural assets.

Born in 1950 and based in San Zeno Naviglio, Mombelli is an architect by profession and also works as a painter, sculptor, and engraver. He first exhibited his Informal works in 1967 in Brescia and has taken part in more than 70 exhibitions in Italy and abroad. His work is held in several museums, and he previously donated an artwork to Montichiari in 2012 following a personal exhibition at the Galleria Civica.
