Vittoriale, AvaDa 2.0 and a Newly Unearthed D’Annunzio Correspondence
The Vittoriale degli Italiani will host **“Omaggio a d’Annunzio nell’azzurro”** on **Sunday, June 21** starting at **6:00 p.m.**, with an evening combining culture, music and fundraising. The program highlights the bond between **Gabriele d’Annunzio** and the **Italian Air Force**, featuring the inauguration of the updated interactive hologram **AvaDa 2.0**, the announcement of a new archival acquisition, and a **free concert** by the **1st Air Region Band**.
At **Casa Cama**, the foundation will unveil **AvaDa 2.0**, an upgraded version of the existing d’Annunzio hologram. The update includes a revised visual model and an improved AI system designed to produce more coherent, stylistically accurate responses based on historical and cultural criteria, aiming to avoid the “neutral” language typical of politically correct AI outputs. The event will also present the acquisition of the **“Carteggio Giovanni Rizzo”**, a collection of **80 letters** from d’Annunzio—many of them previously unpublished—addressed to the commissioner and later Mussolini-appointed prefect in charge of monitoring the poet, alongside book presentations by **Angelo Piero Cappello** and **Maria Grazia Bella**.
The evening will close at **8:15 p.m.** in the Vittoriale’s amphitheater with the **free, open-to-all** performance by the Air Force’s band, led by **Maestro Massimiliano Picca** and moderated by **Sonia Bedeschi**. Proceeds support the Air Force charity project **“Un Dono dal Cielo”**, benefiting three pediatric facilities in Italy: **Giovanni XXIII Hospital (Bari)**, **San Pietro Fatebenefratelli Hospital (Rome)**, and **Fondazione Buzzi (Milan)**. The Vittoriale park will also be **free for the entire afternoon** for the **Summer Solstice** and **World Music Day**.
