Safety on Lake Garda

A new boat for the Internal Waters Unit of the Italian State Police (Polizia di Stato) was inaugurated on Wednesday, June 17, in Peschiera del Garda, according to a statement from the Municipality of Sirmione. The ceremony also included Sirmione mayor Luisa Lavelli, representing the local administration as part of a shared initiative with other towns on Lake Garda.

The vessel, a 870 Walk Around model, is set to strengthen patrol, monitoring, and rescue activities on the lake for residents, tourists, and boaters. During the event, Salvatore Sorbera was also remembered with a plaque placed on the boat’s command bridge, in recognition of his service with the State Police.
