Montichiari Honors Laura Pasinetti With a ScopriAmo Montichiari Event

An event dedicated to astrophysicist and local benefactor **Laura Pasinetti** will be held in the garden of the Montichiari municipal library on **Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 8:45 pm**. The talk is **free of charge** and forms part of the **seventh edition** of *“ScopriAmo Montichiari,”* an initiative promoted by **Pro Loco Montichiari**.

The meeting will take place in the library garden, with entry from **Via Trieste 56**, and will be hosted by **Federico Migliorati**, with music provided by **Anna Baratti**. The event opens Montichiari’s 2026 program commemorating Pasinetti **20 years after her death**, following the cycle’s start on **June 18** with an event focused on historian **Oreste Foffa**.

Born in **1935**, Pasinetti was an associate professor at the **University of Milan** and worked on determining key stellar parameters and building star catalogues. Her legacy includes contributions to the **CADARS** catalogue (Catalogue of Apparent Diameters and Absolute Radii of Stars) and research using observations from the **IUE satellite**, along with statistical methods. In **2003**, she developed a personal connection to Montichiari, her family’s roots, and in **spring 2006** she donated to the community **over 400 artworks** by **Antonio Pasinetti**, plus items including jewellery, vintage cars, books, prints and a financial endowment—later leading to the creation of the civic art gallery dedicated to Antonio and Laura Pasinetti.
