Sardelada Returns for Its 28th Edition in Lago, Offering Free Lake Sardines and Polenta With Amici della Tirlindana Volunteers
The 28th edition of “Sardelada” will take place on Saturday, July 11, along the waterfront, with a rain date on Sunday, July 12. The event starts at 11:30.
The festival features free sardines—especially lake sardines—served with polenta in three preparations: fried, grilled, and “in sisam,” along with drinks including chardonnay, prosecco, beer, or water. Volunteers from the “Amici della tirlindana” association will fish using only fishing rods to secure the catch needed for the event; the lake sardine (agone) is described as originally marine, later adapted to freshwater after a period of drought.
