Conference in Tremosine Honors Ludovico Cozzaglio’s Stand for the Venetian Republic

A conference dedicated to Ludovico Cozzaglio will be held by professor Liliana Aimo on Saturday, 11 July at 20:30 in Tremosine, on the churchyard of the Pieve. The event will move to the MUST museum in case of bad weather, and is part of local institutions and associations’ initiatives marking, six centuries later, the Riviera’s commitment to Venice documented in 1426. The talk links Cozzaglio’s profile to the crisis of the League of Cambrai and to the defense of the Venetian Republic.

The programme also includes a second meeting on 19 July at the Pieve of Tremosine. Historically, Cozzaglio—born in the second half of the 15th century—played a leading role in defending the Serenissima from 1508 until his death in 1516. The family is also remembered through figures such as Arturo Cozzaglio, a scholar of local geology and the designer of major works, including the Strada della Forra.
