Luca Coscioni Association expands Numero Bianco to improve access to waiting lists in Lombardy
The Luca Coscioni Association has expanded its “Numero Bianco” service to provide guidance to citizens seeking medical visits and tests within the timeframes set for first access. The initiative focuses in particular on Lombardy, one of the regions reporting the biggest difficulties in meeting those deadlines. Each request is assigned a priority class linked to a maximum time for the service; if the proposed date exceeds that limit, patients can ask for the procedures needed to obtain care within the established timeframe.
The association said the right to timely care remains poorly understood, with many people unsure who to contact or how to complete the required forms. The free phone line offers information on how to activate the waiting-list process and the steps to submit a request to the relevant healthcare facility, including the option to leave a message if operators are busy. It also urges citizens to report problems or failures to comply so potential collective legal or protective actions can be assessed.
