Urgent Ordinance Bans Non-Essential Use of Drinking Water in Puegnago, Mayor Signs

A drinking-water ban has been issued for the municipality of Puegnago, effective immediately, by Mayor Silvano Zanelli. An urgent ordinance—requested by the water utility Acque Bresciane—prohibits using public network water for non-essential purposes due to a significant drop in local water reserves. The measure applies across the municipal territory and will remain in force until revoked to ensure primary needs for residents.

The ordinance bans watering gardens and lawns, washing courtyards and paved areas, and filling or topping up private ornamental fountains, garden basins, and private swimming pools. Public fountains connected to the network are closed, except for authorized sampling points used by ATS for monitoring. Local police and law enforcement will carry out checks, including against illegal withdrawals, with administrative fines ranging from €25 to €500.
