Air Quality in Lonato del Garda Improves After Valli S.p.A. Fire

Air quality monitoring by ARPA Lombardia after the fire at the Valli S.p.A. plant in Lonato del Garda shows further improvement: in the fourth sampling, dioxins and furans measured about 0.1 pg WHO-TEQ/m³, below the WHO reference level of 0.3 pg WHO-TEQ/m³. Concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), including benzo(a)pyrene, remained under the analytical quantification limits.

ARPA Lombardia said the trend across the four sampling rounds shows a progressive decrease following an increase recorded during the second collection, consistent with typical patterns of fires with residual hotspots. The agency added that monitoring will continue over the coming days to confirm that the environmental picture has fully stabilized, and it will keep providing technical support to the relevant authorities and issue further updates if needed.
