Brescia–Verona–Vicenza–Padua Highway Launches 2026 Summer Exodus Plan

Autostrada Brescia Verona Vicenza Padova has activated its **2026 Summer Exodus Management Plan** for **July and August**, with measures on **A4 Brescia–Padua** and **A31 Valdastico** aimed at improving **traffic flow, increasing checks, and providing assistance**. The plan strengthens operational staffing and coordination with **Polizia Stradale, Fire Brigade, and 118 emergency services**, while limiting construction activity during peak periods and focusing resources on key exits serving **lake towns** and major amusement parks, including **Desenzano, Sirmione, and Peschiera**, plus the stretch between **Sommacampagna and the A22 junction** and the **Piovene Rocchette** exit on the A31.

The plan flags **critical days** as **July 24 and 31, August 14, and the return dates of August 28 and September 4**. Until **September 7**, roadworks will be **suspended on weekends**, except for emergencies or non-deferrable works, and **three lanes per direction** will be kept available. To speed up toll collection, **259 toll gates** will be operating (**178 for telepass**) and extra staff will be deployed across **63 lanes**, including at **Brescia Est, Desenzano, Sirmione, Peschiera, Sommacampagna, Montecchio, and Piovene Rocchette**. Operational support includes **60 traffic assistants, 18 maintenance staff, and 20 special vehicles**, with the **Verona Sud traffic operations center** coordinating mechanical rescue services; **14 service areas** will be available, with **10** offering charging points (**29 charging locations**, plus **10 more** at the **Brescia Est Truck Park**).
