Severe Weather Hits Brescia: Hail and High Winds Batter Countryside

Severe weather hit the Brescia countryside overnight between Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July, bringing hail, heavy rain and strong wind gusts. Coldiretti Brescia said it has begun monitoring farms, with the first critical areas reported between Ospitaletto and Gussago, the Franciacorta region and the west of the province, including Rovato, Adro, Erbusco, Cologne and the north of Palazzolo sull’Oglio.

In Calcinato, hail affected maize fields and other crops, and similar episodes were reported in the Lower Garda area. After the storm, Coldiretti technicians started an inspection of the affected businesses across the province to assess the extent of the damage.
