Italian Navy Inspects Nave Puglia at Vittoriale

The Italian Navy carried out a technical inspection today, Tuesday 28 July, at the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera on the Nave Puglia. The visit focused on restoring the ship’s main mast, which was damaged by severe weather that hit the Upper Lake Garda in recent days.

The storm also caused the fall of several cypress trees and other damage across the Vittoriale complex. The inspection follows a visit last week by Italy’s Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli, together with Vittoriale Foundation president Giordano Bruno Guerri, during which the ministry said restoration work would receive priority to return the site’s cultural heritage to public use as soon as possible.
