Montichiari Airport Sees Cargo Growth in 2026

Montichiari Airport closed the first half of 2026 with air traffic up by more than 14% and cargo traffic—including courier shipments—rising 42% year-on-year compared with the same period in 2025. The airport said the results were supported by the regularisation of a second daily courier slot and by cargo operations from MSC Air Cargo and Geosky.

The growth continued in July, when cargo volumes increased by over 50% on an annual basis. The main freight categories included Oil & Gas, automotive, pharmaceuticals and e-commerce, with wide-body connections to the Middle East and Far East as well as intra-Europe services. SAVE also continues its investment plan to expand infrastructure and operating capacity, with new e-commerce-related activities expected to start from September.
