Surfer Hit and Injured by Ferry in Malcesine

A 55-year-old surfer from Malcesine was seriously injured on Sunday, August 9, in the Verona area of Lake Garda, after an incident reported around 5:30 p.m. Early information suggests he collided with a ferry, though the exact dynamics of the impact are still being investigated.

The man was rescued by an ambulance and a helicopter, then flown to Santa Chiara Hospital in Trento, where he arrived in “red code” condition. Carabinieri officers also responded to the scene to carry out inspections and reconstruct the sequence of events.
