Boats Targeted in Desenzano Theft Spree
A 32-year-old man from Torre Boldone was reported on a non-custodial basis after thefts from boats moored at the port of Desenzano del Garda. Local police identified him following a complaint about items taken from a private boat near the lighthouse at the dam, owned by a Dutch tourist, after the suspect left the port and hid in a building in the historic center before being found shortly afterward.
Investigations led to the recovery of personal documents, payment cards, cash, a multi-purpose pocket knife, and the keys to a stolen truck, along with license plates taken from another vehicle. Surveillance footage also showed the man using a stolen prepaid card to buy multiple “Gratta e Vinci” scratch tickets, and part of the stolen goods was returned to the owners.
