Garda Karate Team Competes at Champions Camp in Thuringia

The Garda Karate Team (GKT) took part from August 5 to 9 in the Champions Camp in Waltershausen, Thuringia, an international event focused on kumite. The team included eight athletes—Leonardo Favalli, Christian Raimondi, Luca Arici, Fabio Venosta, Lisa Maffizzoli, Gaia Maffizzoli, Alice Don and Martina Forgioli—coached by Master Giovanni Marchetti.

Over five days, the group trained on technique and posture, distance management, tactics, close-range fighting and sparring under pressure. The camp was led by directors Noah Bitsch and Christian Grüner, with support from other international coaches and athletes, and ended with tests and competitive simulations involving participants from different countries, also helping build communication and relationships through shared karate practice.
