Bagolino Hosts Presentation of New Volume on Madonna di San Luca

A presentation of the book *L’icona della Madonna di San Luca. Storia, arte, fede a Bagolino nel centenario dell’incoronazione (1926-2026)* will take place on Friday, 21 August at 8:30 pm at the Church of San Rocco in Bagolino. The event is part of the initiatives promoted by the Parish of San Giorgio ahead of the quinquennial celebrations scheduled for 19–27 September.

The volume, edited by Maria Paola Pasini and Flavio Richiedei and published by Grafo di Brescia, reconstructs the history of the ancient Madonna di San Luca icon and the meaning it has taken on over time within the local community. It brings together documents, images, and historical and artistic contributions, including materials that are unpublished or little known, and places the icon in the broader context of Bagolino’s history, traditions, and religious heritage.

A key focus is the 1926 coronation of the icon, with historical photographs shared during the presentation showing aspects of the celebrations in Bagolino. The evening will be introduced by parish priest don Francesco Mattanza and will be an opportunity to explore local history, sacred art, and alpine traditions linked to devotion to the Madonna di San Luca.
