The highly anticipated event, Gardacon, is approaching, scheduled for November 9 and 10, 2024, at the Centro Fiera di Montichiari. This convention, dedicated to comics, games, and animated series, promises an immersive experience in the world of pop culture, attracting enthusiasts from across Northern Italy.
Special Guests
This year, the event will be enriched by the presence of international guests such as John Noble, known for his roles in The Lord of the Rings and Fringe, and Daniel Portman, famous for his character Podrick Payne in Game of Thrones. There will also be a reunion of the Italian voice actors from Sailor Moon, featuring iconic dubbing figures like Elisabetta Spinelli and Donatella Fanfani.
A Festival for Everyone
Gardacon is not just a fair but a true festival that embraces every aspect of nerd culture. With over 20,000 square meters dedicated to interactive exhibitions, attendees can explore themed areas ranging from retro gaming to the art of cosplay. Among the most anticipated attractions is the areabricks, where visitors can admire incredible constructions made from famous building blocks and participate in creative workshops.
Activities and Entertainment
For young people and families, there will be numerous stations in the Gamers Arena, where participants can challenge each other in the latest video games as well as classics from the 1980s and 1990s. Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to purchase exclusive merchandise, action figures, and manga in the various exhibition areas.
Exclusive Meetings
A rich program of live events includes meetings with prominent figures from Italian dubbing. On Saturday, “Voices of Role” will take place, featuring voice actors Stefano Crescentini and Manuel Meli, who will share fascinating stories from the dubbing world. The day will culminate in a live concert by Giorgio Vanni, an icon of animated theme songs.
On Sunday, there will be a special reunion dedicated to Sailor Moon, moderated by Leonardo Graziano, during which the series’ historic voice actors will share previously unheard anecdotes. The event will close with concerts by Trick or Treat and the punk rock band Spork.
Cosplay and Competitions
The traditional cosplay parade will also take place, open to all participants who wish to showcase their creations inspired by films, animated series, or TV shows. Costumes will be judged based on the quality of character interpretation and originality.
