Tignale Blaze Put Out; Mayor Urges Residents to Avoid Panic
A wildfire in Tignale that affected the Coste pine forest has been fully extinguished, Mayor Daniele Bonassi said following rain over the weekend. Firefighters have left the site, while prevention efforts continue using drones to monitor the area and check for any new hotspots.
Bonassi also addressed images circulated during the emergency, saying some did not reflect the real situation and may have increased concern among tourists. He added that smoke from burning wood was dispersed by the wind and did not raise particular health concerns for residents. Water levels are under control, with no need for tanker trucks, but the mayor urged responsible use of water.
