Danilo Rossi’s Colorful Exhibit Opens in Moniga on Lake Garda

From August 19 to 31, 2026, Moniga del Garda’s Palazzo Comunale will host “Colori sul Lago,” a solo exhibition by Danilo Rossi at the Sala Polivalente in Piazza San Martino. The show is open daily from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 17:00 to 22:00, with a route focused on Lake Garda landscapes and the artist’s personal memories.

The exhibition opens with a series of flower arrangements in pink, yellow, violet, red and white, including a greenhouse meadow from Valtenesi. It then moves through multiple views of the lake: the road from Maguzzano to the water, boats near Isola del Garda, small harbors with white sails, the beach of Bo in Desenzano, the bay of Salò, and the surroundings of the port in Manerba. Rossi also depicts Tignale and the cypress trees of Gardone, alongside animated beaches, small wooded coves, poplar rows in dialogue with the Mincio, and figures set against the horizon.

Other works turn to memory, featuring scenes such as a woman gathering willow branches to tie vines, sunsets near the Pieve, nudes inspired by Matisse, a farmer walking along a snow-covered path in the Valsabbia, and snow that covered a castle, the church roof and the streets of Padenghe. The exhibition highlights refreshed tones, with bright yellows in leaves, rosy dawns and vivid sunsets, using both a palette knife and brushwork to create lively lake reflections and a spontaneous, naïve style.
