MAG hosts two exhibitions spotlighting Riva neighborhoods and the promotion of Lake Garda
The MAG Museo Alto Garda in Riva del Garda is hosting two exhibitions on the area’s urban memory and tourism imagery: **“Baricentri. Identità urbane dei quartieri 2 Giugno e Degasperi”** and **“Visitate il Garda. Grafica e promozione dalla Belle Époque al turismo moderno.”** The shows explore two different angles, from everyday life in the neighborhoods to how the lake has been portrayed through posters, postcards, and brochures.
**“Baricentri”** focuses on the **2 Giugno and Degasperi** districts, collecting photographs of daily city spaces—from architecture and doorways to shared areas and personal memories—while highlighting multiple viewpoints, changes, and contradictions. **“Visitate il Garda”** traces the evolution of the lake’s visual promotion from the **Belle Époque** to modern tourism, following how landscapes and Mediterranean and alpine atmospheres were used to attract visitors and shape perceptions of the territory. The second exhibition runs until **11 October 2026** as part of the MAG’s broader program on the region’s cultural and social history.
