Francesco Misino’s Mixed-Media Works on Display at Montichiari’s Museo Lechi

A solo exhibition titled **“Astrolabio”** by Apulian artist **Francesco Misino** opened on **Saturday, August 29** at the **Museo Lechi in Montichiari**, featuring around **30 mixed-media works**. The exhibition is set up in the museum’s ground-floor rooms and will run until **Sunday, September 27**.

At the opening, **Martina Varone**, the local Culture Councillor (also representing director **Federico Troletti**), and **Michela Capra**, curator for Montichiari Musei, attended. Capra linked Misino’s practice to **“arte povera”**, highlighting his use of simple materials such as **fabrics, glass, stones, and bandages**, combined on canvas and reinterpreted through color. The exhibition title refers to the ancient astronomical instrument used for navigation, which Misino turns into a metaphor for finding a personal route through materials, forms, and color.

Misino was born in **Bisceglie in 1952**, studied at the **Academy of Fine Arts in Bari**, and taught **Painting Disciplines** at the **Verona State Art High School** from **1976 to 2011**; he lives and works in **Verona**. The show is open **Wednesday to Saturday, 10:00–13:00 and 14:30–18:00**, and on **Sunday from 15:00 to 19:00**. A free biographical brochure is available at the museum bookshop.
