Peschiera del Garda Welcomes Lt. Giorgio Farina as He Retires After 40 Years in the Carabinieri

Carabinieri Lieutenant Giorgio Farina ended his service on 8 September after more than 40 years in the force. Born in Milan, he joined the Carabinieri in 1986, completed the 39th NCO course between Velletri and Vicenza, and was promoted to vice brigadier in 1988. Much of his career was based in the Verona area, including postings in San Pietro in Cariano and the Radiomobile unit of the Caprino Veronese company, before moving in 1996 to the Carabinieri Company in Peschiera del Garda, where he worked for years in the Operational and Radiomobile unit.

During his career, Farina received three formal commendations: in 2020 for efforts that helped dismantle an extortion group targeting local entrepreneurs; in 2024 for investigations that led to the takedown of an organization accused of aggravated fraud against the state, money laundering and self-laundering, with the seizure of movable and immovable assets, company shares and cash; and in 2025 for investigations into a home robbery in Castelnuovo del Garda that resulted in the arrest of seven people and the seizure of weapons, ammunition and fake law-enforcement badges. Between 2001 and 2002, he also took part in the SFOR international peace mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the Italian Carabinieri contingent.
