Salo Launches Tourist! Exhibition and MuSa Conference Series
A new exhibition at MuSa in Salò, titled **“Tourist! Il fascino del viaggio sul Garda tra Romanticismo e Belle Époque,”** traces the birth and evolution of tourism on Lake Garda from the 19th to the 20th century. Curated by **Paolo Boifava** with **Maria Paola Pasini** and **Attilio Brilli**, the show runs **until 4 October**. It is open **Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00**, closed on **Mondays**, and includes a route through hotels, villas and other forms of hospitality that shaped the lake’s landscape in that period.
The programme also features a series of **free-entry conferences**. On **Saturday 12 September at 17:00**, Pasini will speak on **cosmopolitan tourism and nationalism on the eve of World War I**; at **19:00**, there will be a **guided visit by closed doors** costing **€10**, with booking required. The calendar continues on **19 September** with a talk on the architecture of the early Garda tourism era, and on **26 September** with an event focused on **women travellers of the Grand Tour**, both starting at **17:00** and also **free to attend**.
