Historic Parade and Italy-Greece Reenactment Set for Desenzano del Garda

Desenzano del Garda hosts a historical reenactment event on Saturday, September 26, titled **“Fantasie Mediterranee Italia-Grecia. Insieme per ricordare,”** focused on the period when Italians and Greeks fought for freedom. The **historical parade starts at 16:00 from Piazza Garibaldi** and moves through the town centre, while the show begins at **16:30 in Piazza Cappelletti**. The event is organised by the **Cultural Association “Faro Tricolore” of Desenzano del Garda** and concludes two days dedicated to the relationship between the Italian and Greek Risorgimento.

The parade is led by the **Sbandieratori e Musici della Signoria di Firenze**, who will perform while waving **Greek and Italian flags**. It also includes reenactors from **Faro Tricolore** and **Vivere il Risorgimento**. In Piazza Cappelletti, the programme alternates **operatic music, Risorgimento songs, 19th-century dances, and Greek music and dances**, alongside a narration of key historical moments. Performers include the **Gruppo Danze Greche “Tersicoreo,” Danze ’800 Verona, and Ritmo Dance Academy**, with soprano **Chiara Milini**, tenor **Mickael Santoro**, pianist **Alessandro Marini**, and the **Coro Lirico del Garda** conducted by **maestro Yenisley Jimenez**; the event is hosted by **Marta Visconti** and **Marco Pettenati**.

If weather conditions are poor, the show will still take place **indoors at another venue**, which will be communicated in time; in that case, **the parade through Desenzano’s streets will be cancelled**.
