On Sunday 27 September, from 17:00, the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera will inaugurate its autumn season with the event titled Un luogo di assidua creazione e di assidua perfezione. The programme resumes a little over two months after a severe bout of bad weather hit the Upper Lake Garda area. The reopening includes four new exhibitions, the opening of the Foresteria Il Convento, the replanting of 31 cypress trees felled by the storm, and the presentation of recovery projects already underway.
All the exhibitions will remain open until 7 March 2027. At the Museo d’Annunzio Segreto, Magia Libertina by Claudio Vino will debut, presenting an artistic homage to the female universe in d’Annunzio through installations, paintings and digital works with a dreamlike dimension. At the Golfo Nascosto, the exhibition project Luz Herida / Luce Ferita features 25 photographic works by Chilean photographer Tomás Quiroga, curated by Miguel Ángel Felipe, drawing on the artist’s personal experience and his return to Santiago after more than 15 years away, addressing themes of belonging, return and uprooting.
Casa Cama hosts Adolfo Wildt e Gabriele d’Annunzio by Anna Cerofolini, with 27 female and male figures in pencil imagined as possible protagonists of d’Annunzio’s world, in dialogue with Wildt’s sculptures and d’Annunzio’s words. At the MAS, the programme continues with La notte ha la sua via. Per un nuovo canto by Nadia Nucci, inspired by d’Annunzio’s Contemplazione della morte, featuring vestals and paper, ceramic and metal aeroplanes that evoke the MAS 96 motor launch as a symbol of crossing and a new departure, alongside the motto “Memento audere semper”.
The Foresteria Il Convento, intended for scholars and guests, will provide a new space within the d’Annunzio complex. The replanting of the 31 cypress trees is described as both a symbolic and practical commitment to the future of the park, as highlighted by president Giordano Bruno Guerri. During the afternoon, the status of recovery interventions already started will be presented, together with early results from the Art Bonus project, including updated donation figures. Additional solidarity initiatives will also be outlined, including an initiative promoted by the Abruzzo region, and the conclusion of “Vittoriale da vivere”, supported by Fondazione TIM, which created a new narrative and cultural route for the d’Annunzio complex using immersive technologies and Virtual Reality content. For the afternoon, entry to the Vittoriale Park will be free.
