Montichiari Puts Alzheimer in the Spotlight at Casa Serena Conference

Montichiari, Alzheimer and prevention will be the focus of the conference “Conoscere l’Alzheimer: segnali precoci e reti di supporto”, scheduled for Monday 21 September at 18:00 at the Fondazione Casa Serena, via Badazzole 29. The event is open to the public and admission is free.

The meeting, held to mark World Alzheimer’s Day, will address cognitive decline and the first signs of dementia, including ways to support orientation and the services available to elderly people and their families. Institutional greetings will be delivered by Rossana Gardoni, Councillor for Social and Socio-health Services for the Municipality of Montichiari, which is patronising the initiative.

Speakers include Massimo Biacca, a neurologist, and Agostina Fappani, a geriatrician. Rosa Di Natale, General Director of the RSA Villaggio Alzheimer in Carpenedolo, will also take part, along with IFEC operators from ASST Garda, the Family and Community Nurses involved in dementia care at local level. Social workers from Ambito 10 will present local projects and resources to support people with Alzheimer’s, while A.M.A. will describe self-help groups for dementia caregivers.
