The Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera has launched Vittoriale Lab, a national ideas competition for people under 25 that aims to turn young instincts into bold solutions to major challenges facing the present. The deadline is 30 October 2026. The initiative, supported by Regione Lombardia, continues the work of Vittoriale president Giordano Bruno Guerri to identify young talent and their ability to imagine what does not yet exist, drawing on the experimental spirit associated with Gabriele d’Annunzio.
Vittoriale Lab is not a cash-prize competition. Instead, it offers a training, mentorship and visibility pathway for selected participants, who will work with tutors to address three major challenge areas. Participation is free, individual and open to anyone residing or domiciled in Italy who has not yet turned 25 by the deadline. The call does not require specific academic qualifications, prior technical skills or professional experience.
Applicants must submit their entry by 30 October 2026, following the competition notice, including a video presentation of up to three minutes and a written proposal of up to three pages. Participants choose one of three areas: Natura e Artificio (reinventing sustainability through culture), Piazze Digitali (new forms of community in the era of artificial intelligence) and Il Corpo Aumentato (new identities between physical space and virtual reality). A panel of experts will select semifinalists for a video interview, and the ten selected for the second stage will attend the Officina del possibile on 30 and 31 January 2027. The programme ends on 31 January 2027 with a public presentation of the "Manifesto del Futuro", described as a collective textual and performative work developed from participants’ ideas.
