Tremosine: Strada della Forra to Close for Two Months After Epiphany 2027

The iconic Strada della Forra in Tremosine will face a new closure lasting approximately two months starting just after Epiphany 2027. The Province of Brescia announced the upcoming traffic disruption following an October 1 inspection of the mountain roads between Valvestino, Magasa, and Tremosine.

Provincial councillor Paolo Fontana and executive Pierpaola Archini verified the ongoing construction sites and planned the upcoming interventions. On the SP 38 (Strada della Forra), the new phase will focus on strengthening the Camino tunnel and upgrading the slope monitoring systems.

Camino Tunnel Safety Upgrades

Inside the Camino tunnel, structural reinforcements will be completed, while external anchor tie-rods will secure the rock face. Advanced monitoring sensors will also be installed to detect any geological movements. To ensure maximum safety during the operations, the road will remain completely closed to traffic for about two months after the January holidays.

In addition, preliminary geotechnical surveys for the planned road widening in the Vesio area will take place this November, requiring four overnight closures from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Valvestino and Idro Road Works

The October 1 inspection also covered other key routes. On the SP 58 between Idro and Capovalle, asphalt has been relaid on dangerous hairpin bends. On the SP 9 in Valvestino, retaining walls damaged by natural disasters in Turano have been restored. Lastly, works on the three bridges of the Valvestino dam, co-financed by the Mountain Community and the Province, are progressing with structural reinforcements and new safety barriers.
