Opera at the Casino returns to Gardone Riviera with three afternoon opera concerts on Saturday 10 October, Saturday 31 October and Saturday 21 November 2026, always at 5:30 pm in the Wimmer Hall of the former Casino. The series is organised by the municipality of Gardone Riviera together with the association Musica in Canto. Admission is free until seats run out.
The three evenings
The series opens on 10 October with “Le nuove voci dell’opera lirica” (The New Voices of Opera). Soprano Nicoletta Briguglio and tenor Paolo Delai, accompanied at the piano by maestro Nicola Dal Cero, perform the great arias of the nineteenth century.
On 31 October, “Il Genio di Salisburgo” (The Genius of Salzburg) pays tribute to Mozart on the 270th anniversary of his birth. On stage are sopranos Chiara Milini and Federica Grumiro and bass Rocco Cavalluzzi, with maestro Stefano Ragusini at the piano.
The series closes on 21 November with the “Gran Galà dell’Opera”, featuring five artists in a programme of the best-loved pages of Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini.
After the spring season
The series had already staged three concerts in spring, on 4 April, 25 April and 24 May. They were “I grandi del Novecento” (The Greats of the Twentieth Century), “Eroine dell’opera” (Heroines of Opera) and an evening dedicated to Verdi’s Il Trovatore.
The venue
The concerts take place at Palazzo Wimmer, the former Casino of Gardone Riviera, which has been restored by the municipality. In 2024 the municipality awarded its restaurant to pastry chef Iginio Massari.
