Road Show by Visit Brescia: An Initiative to Attract Tourists from Eastern Europe

From November 26 to 28, the Road Show organized by Visit Brescia will take place in the capitals of the Czech Republic and Poland, aiming to promote the tourist offerings of Brescia. This initiative is part of a broader context of commercial development and tourism promotion, aimed at strengthening Brescia’s presence in foreign markets.

In recent years, data indicates a significant increase in tourist flows from Poland and the Czech Republic. From 2021 to 2023, the number of Polish tourists heading to Brescia has tripled, while the number of Czech visitors has more than doubled, according to statistics provided by Polis Lombardia.

Mission in Prague and Warsaw

The Brescia delegation will consist of representatives from fourteen local tourism operators, including public entities, consortia, and accommodation facilities. Key figures leading the mission will include Andrea Mattia Maggioni (Vice President), Graziano Pennacchio (CEO), Tiziana Porteri (Counselor), and Manuel Gabriele (Director). During meetings with local tour operators and agencies, the various opportunities offered by the Brescia territory will be presented.

The event will also include B2B workshops dedicated to establishing business relationships between buyers and sellers. The delegation will have customized stations to address the specific requests of Czech-Polish tourism operators.

Market Opportunities in Eastern Europe

Visit Brescia has identified Eastern Europe as one of the areas with the highest potential for tourism development. The strategic plan for 2024 includes an intensification of promotional activities in this region. The goal is to attract an increasing number of visitors from both countries through direct connections with Milanese airports.

In 2023, Poland ranked among the top five countries for arrivals in Brescia. The country is experiencing a strong economic growth period and has a young population with good purchasing power. These factors make the Polish market particularly interesting for future tourism strategies.

Although the Czech Republic is facing economic challenges related to inflation, interest in Brescia continues to grow. The new economic policies announced by the Minister of Industry and Trade could further stimulate this positive trend.

Statistics clearly show the growth of tourist flows to Brescia:

From Poland

  • 2021: 42,487 hotel arrivals; 52,415 non-hotel arrivals
  • 2022: 52,415 hotel arrivals; 128,450 non-hotel arrivals
  • 2023: 132,413 hotel arrivals; 183,290 non-hotel arrivals

From the Czech Republic

  • 2021: 29,842 hotel arrivals; 28,119 non-hotel arrivals
  • 2022: 62,523 hotel arrivals; 60,820 non-hotel arrivals
  • 2023: 76,850 hotel arrivals; 68,770 non-hotel arrivals

These figures highlight not only the increase in tourist presence but also the strategic importance of the Brescia province in the European tourism landscape.

All the aforementioned entities will also be present in Warsaw alongside other local businesses such as Navigazione Lago d’Iseo.

This mission represents an important step in strengthening ties between Brescia and the emerging markets of Eastern Europe, thus contributing to the sustainable growth of tourism in the province.
