The film “Vermiglio,” directed by Maura Delpero, has recently passed the first selection of the Academy for the Oscars in the category of Best International Feature Film, marking a significant recognition for Trentino. Announced on December 17, the shortlist includes 15 competing titles, among which is the film supported by the Trentino Film Commission. This initial step toward the final nominations, to be revealed in January, has generated great enthusiasm among local authorities.
The president of the autonomous province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, along with vice president Francesca Gerosa, expressed satisfaction with this achievement: “We are proud that an Italian production supported by Trentino has been selected in this initial lineup of films. Vermiglio tells the authenticity of our land with truth and poetry.” The representatives congratulated director Delpero and wished the film success in its Oscar journey.
