Almost 80% of accommodation facilities and registered apartments in the national database have obtained the National Identification Code (CIN), a crucial element in ensuring legality in tourism. Currently, there are over 451,000 facilities with the code out of a total of 571,000 registered. The province of Matera stands out with an impressive 94.10% of CINs issued, followed by the autonomous province of Bolzano at 93.09%. In contrast, the provinces with the lowest rates include Terni (54.33%) and Trieste (55.69%). In the province of Brescia, out of 8,572 registered facilities, a remarkable 7,291 have obtained the CIN, corresponding to 85.06%.

Federalberghi emphasizes that the National Identification Code is essential in combating illegality in the tourism sector, and the 2025 budget law mandates its inclusion in tax declarations. Starting from January 2, 2025, facilities without a CIN will be subject to significant administrative penalties. Furthermore, thanks to the joint support of Federalberghi, local associations, and the Ministry of Tourism, many facilities have overcome difficulties related to inaccuracies in databases and have regularized their status. The president of Federalberghi Brescia has urged lagging facilities to hurry in obtaining their CIN to comply with regulations.
