The German Ambassador to Italy, Hans-Dieter Lucas, visited the Feralpi Siderurgica plant in Lonato del Garda today, Thursday the 30th, to gain firsthand insight into a model of sustainable and innovative steelmaking. During the meeting with Feralpi Group President Giuseppe Pasini, important topics were discussed, such as the manufacturing symbiosis between the two countries, which are the leading producers and consumers of steel in Europe. Other institutional figures were also present, including the German Consul General in Milan and the Mayor of Lonato del Garda.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase recent investments at the facility, including the electrification of operations to reduce environmental impacts. Pasini emphasized the significance of the meeting in the context of current European economic challenges, while Lucas highlighted the deep interconnection between the German and Italian economies, underscoring the need for cooperation to tackle global challenges and promote sustainable development.
