A lifeless body has been discovered in a canal in Gavardo, raising concerns among local residents. The incident occurred on the evening of Monday, February 10, when several inhabitants reported a suspicious object in the water near the intermunicipal wastewater treatment plant in the Vallone area. Upon the arrival of emergency services shortly after 9:30 PM, the man was found to have been deceased for several hours. The body was only identified later that night and belongs to a 48-year-old man who lived nearby.
Investigations are currently being conducted by the Carabinieri, who are trying to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death. The rescuers, who arrived with a medical vehicle from the local hospital and an ambulance from Anc Valle del Chiese, could only confirm the death. The recovery of the body from the canal was carried out by the Fire Brigade of Salò. At this time, investigators are considering the possibility of an extreme act as the primary cause of the tragedy.
