A delegation from the Firefighters of Desenzano participated in the Jubilee of the Armed Forces of police and security held in Rome on Sunday, February 9. The religious ceremony, officiated by Pope Francis in St. Peter’s Square, saw the participation of uniformed personnel from around the world. During his homily, the Pope urged those present to always keep in mind the purpose of their actions: to promote and defend life, emphasizing the importance of their work in cases of natural disasters and for the protection of the most vulnerable.
Following the Mass, escorted by the Swiss Guards, the members of the Brescia delegation visited the fire station of the Vatican City. This visit provided them with the opportunity to learn about the organization and operational methods of the corps under the command of the Vatican Gendarmerie.
