2024 has been confirmed as the hottest year of the last thirty years in Veneto, with a climatic anomaly of +1.4°C compared to the historical average. Statistics reveal a decrease in rainy days, accompanied by increasingly frequent extreme weather events, including severe thunderstorms and hailstorms. The Regional Councillor for the Environment, Gianpaolo Bottacin, emphasized that the region is addressing climate change through a series of strategic plans aimed at reducing polluting emissions and managing water resources sustainably.

Analyses indicate that in 2023 and 2022, average annual temperatures of 12.7°C were recorded, making them the hottest years ever documented. Additionally, 2024 has seen an increase in precipitation of 38.5% compared to the thirty-year average, peaking in the spring season. Bottacin highlighted the importance of forward planning to mitigate the effects of climate change and announced the approval of the Climate Change Adaptation Strategy to coordinate all regional plans related to environmental and energy matters.
