Road accident in Desenzano del Garda: 31-year-old woman dies
A fatal road accident has shaken the community of Desenzano del Garda during the night of March 14-15, 2025, resulting in the tragic loss of a 31-year-old woman. The incident occurred around 2:00 AM along the SP11, in the Fantona Nuova area, when the driver lost control of her vehicle and collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite lane. Initial reports suggest that the impact may have been caused by an overtaking attempt or by the wet road conditions, leading to a violent crash that reduced the car to a wreck trapped beneath the heavy vehicle; the woman likely died on impact.
Emergency services, including the traffic police, carabinieri, firefighters, and medical personnel, responded to the scene to manage the rescue operations and clear the roadway of the vehicles involved. During these operations, the bypass was closed for several hours while necessary investigations were conducted to clarify the circumstances of the accident. A man of the same age involved in the collision did not sustain serious injuries.
